Thirty Minutes - Extras and Other Stuffies

FAQ

Where did the idea come from?  The inspiration for Thirty Minutes came from a nightmare I had.  When I woke up my hands were shaking and I couldn't stop typing until the story was told.

Why limit Sarah James point of view?  Several reasons actually.  We as human beings are very egocentric beings.  Also I felt it told the story better if it left details to the readers imagination.  Sarah takes you on the roller coaster of a woman turned suicide bomber.  In her eyes, her story is the only one that matters, so that's the point of view I gave the reader.

Why don't you name the terrorists and their agenda?  Giving evil a name gives it power.  Also I wanted the reader to cast who they chose in the role of the villain. As far as their reasons, well, do all terrorists have an agenda or a reason?  Since the story is told from Sarah's point of view, they didn't share their plans with her because she was merely the means to the end of their plan.  Do we tell pigs that we plan to slaughter them when we corral them into slaughter houses?

Why Terrorists?  Because terrorism affects us all, however Thirty Minutes was written to remind people
that you do not have to simply lay back and take it.  Take a stand.  Sarah originally was not a hero, she was just a mother going to work.  If you were put in her position what would you have done?

WHAT THE HELL KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT?  WAS THE BOMB REAL?  I like open ended stories because again the reader has the opportunity to fill in the blanks.  Some people want the happy ending and if that's what you want to believe then I'm not going to stop you.  There is something to be said about leaving something to the imagination.

What Happened after the clock went 0:00.  This was the original ending that I'd written, with some bonus content from Homeland Security Ted added in for your reading pleasure.  I didn't add this ending to the story because as I've said before I like leaving things open for interpretation.  Be warned all you happy ending hunters out there, if that's what you envisioned for Sarah James, then please don't read this.
